This certainly sounds like a festive and unusual way to spend a July Christmas…
Christmas in July celebration at Massimo’s Pizza Club Friday 24 July and Saturday 25 July at 8pm.
The festive menu includes: mulled wine antipasti, selection of fantastic pizzas, dessert, homemade liquors (Limoncello and Bicerin – Massimo’s chocolate liquor) and free entry to our Christmas draw. R140pp Warm and friendly atmosphere, fireplace, Christmas decorations and festive music!
Limited numbers, booking essential.
I went to Massimo’s a month or two ago, and ate the most unbelievable amount of the most delicious pizza I have had since I visited Rome back in 2006 and discovered what pizza is SUPPOSED to taste like. None of this horrid fat doughy crust with a mishmash of toppings, these babies are on a paper -thin, crispy crust, with delicate flavours that are complementary instead of overpowering each other… Superb!
(Funnily enough, even though I’m wheat-intolerant, I didn’t have too much trouble with the pizza – perhaps because the flour is stone-ground, and there isn’t that much of it!)
And the atmosphere is, as they advertise, ‘warm and friendly’. I imagine ‘Christmas’ there would be very good fun indeed.
Massimo’s Pizza Club is located at Scarecrows, Oakhurst Farm Park, Main Rd, Hout Bay. Contact details: 073 3901373 – 021 7907906. www.pizzaclub.co.za

hi pia, just saw your post now but we went to Massimo’s on Saturday night. it was sposed to be a birthday party for my boyfriend but also happened to be christmas in july – which was great. we LOVED our evening. the food was incredible. this is how pizza is sposed to taste.
i really really recommend that everyone who respects food made well and with love goes to this restaurant. Massimo is clearly extremely passionate about his food and it is so nice to eat in a place where you can watch the food being made and ask the chef questions about anything and everything. Massimo and his wife were constantly walking around chatting with us and giving us information about the ingredients etc.
we also loved Massimo’s homemade limoncello and chocolate liquers… as well as his amazing dessert and homemade ice cream.
get down there everyone!
i can’t wait to go back soon.
oh awesome! that limoncello certainly packs a punch doesn’t it? i ate more the night i went, than i thought possible, and loved every single morsel. and, as you say, Massimo is exceptionally passionate about his food, which makes the experience even more fun.
