Quite like the sound of this – an informal folk music festival held on a Stellenbosch wine farm… I love Kirstenbosch concerts, but they do get rather packed, and there is something very appealing about the idea of a more laid-back informal experience that includes swimming in a dam and is children AND pet-friendly.
The ‘What We Are Going To Be Doing On Sunday’ Music Festival (abbreviated to WWAGTBDOS), is a ‘fledgling folk music festival’ and will be held on the first Sunday of every month (until May 2012) at Lievland Wine Farm, near Stellenbosch.
Booze and wine is available for purchase, but bring your own picnic basket!
Lineup (6 November 2011):
- Albert Frost | Andrew James | Natasha Meister | Meri Kenaz | Gil Hockman | Tim Hutchinson
- Miss Texas 1977 | Bateleur | Gerald Clark | Gary Thomas | Gil Hockman | Janie Bay | Shotgun Tori (Joburg)
Children and pets welcome. And, say organisers: ”bring a cozzie – there is a dam!”
Dates: from 6 November 2011 – first Sunday of every month
Time: 12-7pm
Where: Lievland Wine Estate, route 44, Stellenbosch
Entrance: R70 at the door
