Yet another fresh produce market for Cape Town, hooray!
Reading the False Bay Echo this week I spotted a notice about the Triangle Square Market, a new undercover all-weather market for Fish Hoek and surrounds – launching on Saturday the 15th of November 2008.
Here’s the scoop:
Triangle Square will provide a platform for local producers of excellent produce to present their wares to the community. The Emporium is for local farmers, purveyors of fine foods, organic merchants, original producers of luxury goodies, producers of seasonal goods, micro enterprises.
The Triangle Square Market has been designed by a leading creative designer and will have an exciting look and feel which will rewrite market standards in SA. This will position Fish Hoek as THE must visit destination for the ultimate market experience.
Liking the sound of that, I am… What a great way for locals to get their weekly fix of veggies, fresh from the farms, and some gourmet goodies to boot.
According to the ad, the new market will operate between 9am and 2pm every Saturday. Contact general manager Brian on 082 990 5292 or email brian [at] trianglesquare.co.za for more details, or to book a stall.
I’ll definitely be checking it out on launch day… in large part to satisfy my curiosity as to what exactly a ‘Triangle Square’ might look like!

Mothercityliving is definitely the authority on CT markets! I think the time has come for you to create a page listing all markets, their location, opening days/times and maybe a short description. Possibly even a rating on the mothercityliving-o-meter.
Keep up the good work.

Hey Dax. Thanks! Yeah, I’m working on it, already, actually. Just keep getting distracted by all the things I need/want to write about. Perhaps this weekend will give me enough time – ’tis summer season after all, and time’s a-wasting!
Having a fresh produce and home produced food market in the South is such a great idea. We enjoy the food every weekend and recommend our guests to visit the market, which is now located in Sunvalley Mall on Saturday mornings, and Long Beach mall on Wednesdays.
