On tomorrow and Saturday (22 & 23 November 2013), the ‘Stanley Road Home Sale’, a gathering of selected South Africa creatives at a Claremont home. If you love shopping in a relaxed, informal environment this kind of pop-up collaborative is probably exactly your cup of tea.
The seven co-creators will be hand-selling their own designs, so you’ll be able to meet them and find out more about their work from the source.
Here’s a look at who will be there:
Most well-known, perhaps, for their Africa Moon poster, ClipClop produces a range of beautiful notepads, calendars and other useful bits and pieces.
Ed Suter is a Cape Town-based photographer with an eye for vibrant street life.
A family farm in the Overberg – producers of organic honey, olive oil, wine, cider and much more.
Hand-made jewellery by Nicky Savage (based in Durban)
Intricate wooden candle holders, hanging decorations, Christmas cards, gift tags and linocut prints, handcrafted by Annette van Zyl
Garingboom’s Saskia went out in the wilds and brought back a ‘magical harvest’ of made-to-order Christmas trees with a styled-by-Africa flavour
Clothing designed by Ilse Menck with a passion for natural textures, natural colours and the natural environment.
