Starting tonight (23 March), Josephine Mill in Newlands will be hosting a monthly ‘Green Drinks’ event that sounds quite promising:
“Calling environmentally minded people in the Southern Suburbs to a casual, friendly social gathering at the Josephine Mill to share ideas for sustainability and conscious living.
The venue will be open once a month to unleash our collective genius and enable us to start engaging with the pressing issues of the day. Come together as a community to share knowledge, skills, hope, and enthusiasm.
If you have an interest or simply a curiosity about anything Green/ environmental / sustainable, then please come to our monthly GREENDRINKS gathering.”
It’s a concept that’s been successful around the world, and I’m certainly interested in going to see what it’s like.
So, if you have an interest in topics environmental, or are just curious, come along to the lovely Josephine Mill this evening – it should be good fun.

Hi Pia I read your post too late – would`ve liked to be there. Maybe next month. Did you go?
Hi John
Yeah, I’d only just heard about it myself – but was happily able to go. It was fun! A very casual affair with no agenda – just a chance to chat to like-minded folks. At a guess I’d say there were between 40 and 50 people there, which was a good turnout for the very first event. And Josephine Mill is a lovely venue, right by the river. Definitely worth stopping in for the next one!
