Kirstenbosch Craft Market reopens for summer (2012/2013 season)

The Kirstenbosch Craft Market is one of my favourites on the Cape Town market scene. The market’s location on the lawns around the Stone Cottages (opposite Kirstenbosch) is perfect for a warm sunny Sunday’s stall-trawl and although I don’t seem to end up buying very much, I still enjoy it immensely.

Like quite a few other outdoor markets, the Kirstenbosch Craft Market hibernates over the wet winter season, coming back to life when Spring has definitively sprung. And this weekend marks that step towards summer: the market reopens this coming Sunday with the first market of the 2012/2013 season.

Thereafter, the market will run once a month until winter swings round again next year (closed in June, July and August). An extra market is held in December (perfect for some mall-free Christmas shopping).

Kirstenbosch Craft Market – 2012/2013 Event Details:

Where: Kirstenbosch Stone Cottages, Rhodes Drive, Newlands.
