Nothing spells summer quite like the start of Kirstenbosch’s Summer Concert season, and it’s just around the corner, kicking off with Locnville and Jax Panik on Sunday 20 November 2011.

Lazy afternoons picnicking on the beautiful slopes of Kirstenbosch Gardens, enjoying the sounds of some of the country’s best artists – sounds like a pretty good way to while away the hours, don’t you think?

And, something new this year: the option to Book a Green Cab (Cape Town’s “first carbon-neutral transport service”) and be shuttled from Claremont to the Gardens and back for a small donation, which is a really great idea.  Shuttle seats will be limited, so get that sorted well ahead of time.

Kirstenbosch Summer Concerts 2011/2012: Details

Dates & Times:  Every Sunday from 20 November 2011 until 01 April 2012.  5.30pm – 7pm (Gates open at 4pm)

How to book tickets: Online bookings can be made at www.webtickets.co.za. Redeem your e-ticket at the Kirstenbosch Ticket Office. Over-the-counter tickets go on sale on the Tuesday preceding each concert, from the Visitor’s Centre Ticket Office only. On Sunday tickets will be available at all three entrances. Telephone bookings (021 761 2866) can be made from the Tuesday before each concert, with an administration fee of R10 per ticket applicable.
