As anyone who’s ventured on to the site today will (hopefully) have noticed, Mother City Living is looking a wee bit different right now. Just a little itty bit…
Okay, make that a lot.
Realising that it’s been just about two years since I first started down the road of living the good (and then increasingly ‘green’) life in this here beautiful city of ours, I decided it was time for a change.
It’s not quite right yet, but I was too impatient to wait any longer. Bear with me as I fiddle with the finer details, like the ultimate font/s (if there is such a thing) and tweak my various menus and settings hither and thither.
So, what do you think? Your comments are most welcome!

hi pia,
wow, yeah, i was very confused when i first saw the new look today! i REALLY like the old format (in fact, just yesterday i was thinking how much i like it). but the new one is also good… i will reserve final judgement until it’s all been tweaked and polished though.
i’d only been on the old one a couple of times, as i just found your website recently, but my initial reaction is that the old one had more character. the new one is a bit cleaner and whiter, but and more “trendy” or cool, but the old one was a bit more in line with the topic. this is more of a typical, bland blog…
thanks for your comments, guys. the main reason i wanted to change the template was because i need three columns – of all the information pages i’ve been putting together as i’ve gone along are beginning to take up too much space for the two columns this template provides. i agree that it isn’t very earthy anymore, which it needs to be… i’m no whizz with wordpress templates, but no doubt there’s a way to squeeze three columns out of the old template.
hi there, just logged in again and love the new look now!!! gorgeous. very very very visually appealing and everything is still easy to read and to find. nice work!
hey candice. thanks! i was tearing my hair out trying to find a theme that worked. i tried just about every free theme i could find but nothing was quite right. in the end, i bought a premium theme which maintained some of the earthiness of the original look, but far more flexibility and functionality. worth every penny, yay!
Looks more professional – a blogger taking her blogging seriously!
Colour scheme is great, earthly green tones gives the blog a more earthly… even organic feel to it!
All in all a deffinate change for the better.
Cheers,
Craig
Thanks, Craig! It was worth all the hair-pulling in the end (it’ll grow back!)
