Green Drinks, if you haven’t been yet, is a regular informal gathering of green-minded folks wanting to chat and exchange ideas with other fellow enthusiasts and interested parties.
There are currently hubs for the Atlantic Seaboard (seaboardgreendrinks@gmail.com) Hout Bay and the Southern Suburbs (those are the ones I’ve heard about – if there are more, please let me know!)
This month’s Southern Suburbs Green Drinks takes place tomorrow evening at Josephine Mill (15 June ’09) and will feature an organic winery from Stellenbosch: Reyneke Wines.
Johan Reyneke will speak on “philosophy, biodynamic farming and wine making”.
Johan counteracts the materialism and spiritual impoverishment of today’s world with a thoughtful awareness of the natural world. He has deep respect for nature and is inquisitiveness about the mysteries that seem to pass us by.
His wines will be available for tasting and orders.
For further information on Johan, biodynamic farming and the wines he produces please refer to www.reynekewines.co.za
I don’t know too much about the wine industry, let alone the organic wine industry, and I’m interested to hear about his work in going the organic/biodynamic route. Not to mention tasting the wine as it’s something I would like to support!
Green Drinks (Newlands) takes place on the third Monday of every month (from 6.30pm) at the Josephine Mill, Newlands, Cape Town (map). To sign up for the event’s email circulation list, send an email to greendrinks@josephinemill.co.za
