A new market is coming to Cape Town central – and it’s arriving this Saturday!
The Triangle Square Market, which started in Fish Hoek last year, is now branching out, and will be launching a brand new market at De Waterkant in Greenpoint.
Like the Fish Hoek market, the De Waterkant Market will “provide a platform for local producers of excellent produce to present their wares to the community” and is all about “local farmers, purveyors of fine foods, organic merchants, original producers of luxury goodies, producers of seasonal goods, micro enterprises.”
I think it’s really exciting that there will be an alternative for city dwellers who don’t want to brave the crush of the uber-popular Neighbour Goods Market at the Biscuit Mill (it’s fab, no debate there – but boy is it busy).
The De Waterkant Market will be on every Saturday morning from 9am to 2pm, starting Saturday the 8th of August 2009. For more details, contact Brian Marsh on 082 990 5292 or email him at brian@trianglesquare.co.za. See you there!

cool. I wonder when one of these markets are going to take over Greenmarket Square on a Sunday and bring some life back into the city centre on a Sunday.
huge market and a big need for fresh goods/etc on a sunday.
imo.
I’ll only go if the Pesto Princess will be there!
This is a follow-up to our phone call earlier today. We are interested in changing the way we do business and are looking at trading in markets instead of in the formal premises we occupy currently. We would like to know the terms under which you operate and what charges are levied
our friend Martine will be at this market selling our liquors!
