*update 28/09/09: the banquet has been postponed until 2 November 2009*
Awesome news – the Cape Farmhouse will be holding another Full Moon Banquet this October! I missed the last one, back in March, but heard really good things about it, so am definitely going to be there this time around. The idea of the feast is to celebrate the endeavours of local farmers and entrepreneurs – those farmers who are producing foods which are organic, wholesome and grown using proven traditional methods.
Here’s the scoop for the October event:
We will be hosting our 2nd Full Moon Feast and we would like to invite all stall holders selling natural organic products to book a table with us.
We will work at keeping the stalls different to ensure a successful and interesting evening for everyone involved. Exhibiting and participating is one of the best things you could do for your business or organisation. Our first full moon feast was such a success that we have now decided to try and make this a monthly event, the first event falling in on the 4th of October 2009. If the weather is cold, we will supply gas heaters and drop the sides of our awning to create a warm and cozy environment. For the stall holder, our aim is not to make a profit but to cover our costs.
We are open to all interested parties including; local organic products and natural solutions that include food and beverages; natural, complementary medicines and preventative health care; environmentally friendly textiles and fashion; and body, beauty, hair and cosmetic care.
I can’t wait! And I’m excited that they’re planning to make this a monthly thing…
If you’re a stallholder, interested in displaying your wares, you can email firstname.lastname@example.org to apply for a space (R30). Tickets for the feast, complete with delicious organic food, will be sold separately at R130 per ticket (open to everyone), and a cash bar will be available. The menu will be uploaded onto their website within the next two weeks.
The Cape Farmhouse restaurant is 3km from Scarborough at the bottom of Red Hill – Junction M66 & m65. Phone Sarah on 021 780 1246 to book tickets or to find out more. Or visit www.capefarmhouse.co.za.
